all of a sudden Low FPS in COD4

for the last month or so, I have been running a Presler Pentium D 925 Dual Core OC to 4.0 ghz. I have been getting excellent FPS(above 100 all the time) in COD4 MP. I also have an 8800gt 512 graphics card. All of sudden, last night, my FPS dropped to about 5 and wont go above 20. I know its not my ping because it never goes above 60. I have checked and made sure my FPS MAX is set to 250. I made sure vertical sync was turned off too.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

 

check and see if you have a recent restore point. about two weeks ago my buddy had some and microsoft had just automatically updated. i can't remember exactly what it called was but it was something software distribution or so. he did a system restore prior to the ms software distribution junk and it solved his problem. he went from high framerates in world in conflict to crappy framerates too.
