ALL windows shortcuts (.lnk) not working ..

    one day i turned on my pc and all of my shortcuts in windows were turned into unspecified files (the files were you doubleclick them and windows asks you which program you want the file to be opened with) .. i have tried to restore my system using windows systemrestore but it's just not working .

    also, everytime i try to open a .exe file nothing happens

    i need help :\

    Sounds virus to me try running a scan in safe mode or try this first do the instructions if you havent already posted in the forum home which says perform this before posting any questions.

    i have booted from the norton antivirus 2005 cd and scanned .. no viruses :S
