All you Firebird users

Have any of you guys found a program or a work around for the problem with Firebird losing the Favicons in the Bookmarks sidebar? I know it's because they are stored in cache and once that is emptied you lose them, I just wondered if anybody had managed to get a fix for it. Apart from this it's a great browser, I wouldn't be without it now.

I agree. It is my favorite browser. I use it with both XP and Linux.

I used about:config in the address bar to disable them, so that they're never collected and never show up. There are two switches for them: favicons and site_icons. Unfortunately, while this NEGATIVE switching works perfectly, the OPPOSITE doesn't: you can't consistently keep them even with the Tabbed Browsing Extensions (TBE).

This is a personal taste kind of thing, and the Firebird developers seem to have little regard for such things.

I never, ever use any view in Windows Explorer other than the Details view, and If I could add a switch to Explorer to get rid of all of the icons completely, I would. It really IRRITATES me every time I have to go to the Fonts folder and I re-discover that the full ICONS view is the unchangeable default display there.

Thanks guys, I thought as much! There is a bug report about it lodged in Bugzilla but as you say, I don't expect it will be high on the wish list........................Still a bloody great browser though!
