I got an email today claiming to be from a hacker who claims to have installed Cobalt Strike Beacon (supposedly driver based) on my computer. Is this a real program or am I being fed a line of BS?? The person claims to have downloaded all of my information, data, photos, documents, etc. to their servers and is saying I must pay a certain amount to Bitcoin wallet ID as follows: bc1qtlve83g4vfvkdlqh494zfs9zp8nlx2vhj7z9ve. I am almost positive this IS a scam, but would like confirmation from someone more savvy than I am.

I usually don't have to open an email to know it is a scam.
I get lots that try to get me to open that say, "your computer is infected". With 6 computers and a chromebook in the house, I don't even open those emails. I list them as junk if they are in my inbox.
I get others telling me that I'm about to delete all my contacts. Of course the email doesn't have my name but uses a nym for the email which isn't close to my actual name!
And then there are all the iPhones and gift cards I've won!!! All get reported as junk and get tossed.
