Alohabob freezing my Target PC

I own Alohabob from 2002 when I purchased it to transfer my data to my new PC and it worked great last time. I'm trying to use it again for another PC purchase but have run into a snag. All software is loaded and the Source PC says it's ready. On the Target PC, everytime it goes to look for the USB cable, it freezes and the only way to get out is to shut the computer down.

After reading through the User/Support Guide, I tried to go online which is when I found out that they were purchased by MS in 2006. Their site is gone and I can't find anything on the MS support site about it.

Anyone have any ideas what else I can try?

    Thanks,
    Susan

    Hi

What are the two operating systems on the source and destination PCs? If the destination is Vista then try running the software on the Vista PC side as admin, so right click the applications shortcut and choose Run as Administrator.

Also if it is a move to Vista then wondering if the alohabob cable is same as this one and the software may work as I did hear that alohabob as you mentioned was bought out by MSFT and the tech was suposed to be included into Vista ( likely a new name ) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/easytransfer.mspx ( also can use CD/DVD or external HD for Easytransfer as well )

Thanks Halo. We've got XP on both PCs. I think I found what's going on, although now I have no idea how to fix it. From 2003 when I purchased it, I found a printout of an email conversation with Eisenworld about having the same problem. They gave me links to 3 .exe's to download. Once I saw the email, I remembered that I did this problem then too, and the fix worked fine. But of course they no longer exist so their .exe's are gone too. I tried the MS support/downloads area to see if they might now be there but they're not.

I'll try the link you gave me to see if any of those drivers might work.

    Thanks.
