Another survival horror game is about to receive the modern day remake treatment.

I hope they remake the early games first, then The New Nightmare.

Looks like they're trying to emulate the RE2 remake, which isn't a bad thing.

I think THQ Nordic have put much care into it. Some of the last entries weren't that great. But yeah. I did like The New Nightmare. I found it in a shop called Game in 2001. Very atmospheric, and I remember seeing in the credits, 'Edward Carnby will return!' and they didn't make a sequel.

The 2008 game was a reboot. Although the Edward Carnby in that game is supposed to be the same guy from the 1920s, alive somehow.

 

From what I’ve heard it’s a re-imaging of the original game.
I found the PS1 version of New Nightmare was better, although both it & the PS2 version had bugs, there was a medallion which I couldn’t pick up but this item was missing in the PS2 version.
I liked that you had two games in one as you could choose which character to play.
