ATI Radeon X700 Pro Video Card is the card im getting now will it work with this motherboard Gigabyte 7N400 Pro II nVidia Socket A ATX Motherboard and then is this motherboard compatible with an intel pentium 4 processer at 2.8 gigahertz and do I need anything higher then a 480 watt power supply?

 

Ok, your power supply should be fine. I need to know if the X700 Pro is PCI Express or AGP 8x. If it is PCI Express, then that motherboard will not work. Also, that processor will NOT work with that motherboard. You have to have an AMD Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron processor to go on that board. If you already have that processor, then tell us we'll help you find a motherboard suitable for that processor and that video card. Here is your motherboard info if you can understand it.

I beleive it says PCI Express x16

 

And also before I logg off could you get me a motherboard that works with this pci express video card and a processer that is itleast 2.8 gigs fast that will all be compatible with one another? It will be really helpful Im ordering everything by January 10. Trying to get help from here and computer people freinds.

 

OK, I'll need to know if you want a Pentium based board or AMD based.

ALSO, do you have any of the parts yet? Please post them if you do, it will make it much easier.

 

I'm not really even sure if AMD has PCI Express boards yet...someone else help him out?

 

well i have a asus a8v delux and amd athlon 64 3500 and my mobo has pci and agp

 

No and im gonna have 2 go with AMD based and Im stickign with my x700 graph card since I sent my Radeon 9800 back in the mail today Im ordering everything In 1 day so it all arrives on the same day thats why im trying to find everything by January 10.

 

Element Kid, we're talking about PCI Express, not just normal PCI. I'm having trouble finding an AMD based board with PCI Express, go to www.newegg.com. Look around in there AMD motherboards in where it says slots for PCI Express...if you find any post 'em here. I found a few, but one was very expensive, and the other didn't have any reviews yet. You might be better off getting a AGP 8x card, I believe they are about the same speed as PCI Express at the current time and level of technology.

 

have you made any progress on this? i recently made a mistake and bought the radeon x700 pro (PCI express) without realizing my motherboard can't handle it.

i have an athlon xp 2600, 512mb ddr400 ram, radeon x700 pro, 450W PSU

is there a motherboard out there with pci express technology that is compatible with my existing hardware? the leet killer guy didn't really say if his problem is solved, so i have no idea what to do...

Note: the problem with getting a different video card is that i bought this particular one b/c of its HDTV video out compatiblities which the radeon 8xAGP cards don't have (plus i can't return it anyway).

 

ok, i found a pci express motherboard that works with most of my existing hardware (with exception of my cpu--this one requires an athlon64).

now i have to know if it will run my new radeon x700 pro. it does have a pci express slot, so it will fit, but i'm not sure if the chipset is compatible (it's an SiS chipset). would a motherboard with an NForce chipset work with my radeon graphics card? also, would a motherboard with an SiS chipset work with my radeon graphics card?
