already clocked

ok so i got an 2.40 clocked to 3.7 and got it that way so i'm wondering if i should clock it more and if so how

is it stable? what processor is it? there isnt a set limit to how high procs can go, each one is different

 

well i believe it's stable what signs would be unstableness haha

amd athlon[tm] 64 processor clocked to 3700

 

download Orthos and run it for 7-8 hours (overnight is a good time) If it passes, then you're good. Another quick test to get a general idea is to run 3dmark (whatever version your rig can handle) if it fails that then its pointless to run orthos

hmmm ok well....id just run Orthos, a 5200 wont hold up to 3dmark very well (i used to have one)

 

ok well i left it running for 9 hours and it has passed every test that i can see so what now

you can try and push it further if you want but 3.7 is pretty dang good.

if you're happy with it (i would be) then leave it. How are your temps?

 

i believe when i'm playing games it only goes up to maybe 65 70
so retty good but i havent check latly after i complety got rid of all the dust in my comp
so probally even better now

AY! 70C is really hot!!! what is it at idle? definitely clean out the dust and check the temps again, with your proc running that fast you're probably going to need an aftermarket cooler

 

at idel it's about 40 before the dust clean and 60ish is alot better than when it would shut off at 128c lol

daaaaaang man, thats not good to have it get up that hot lol. 128, wow ive never seen a proc get that high haha. Id look into the Zalman 9500 if you ever get around to replacing the cooler

 

it only did that because the dut on the fan was as thick as my finger

my temp right now is 38 which is really good for my comp
thats with itunes msn and firefox running and avast and spygaurd
