I need to alter the permissions in the following registry key before I can install iTunes as the installation stops when it gets to this key saying that I don't have permission.

    HKEY-LOCAL_MACHINES\SOFTWARE\Classes\itunes.aa\CurVer

    Can anyone help?

I have run the installation as the Administrator, taken Ownership, used the Regassassin program and subinacl, all to no avail.

If you run Regedit as an administrator, can you change the information in that key? Make sure you do not change it as the registry of the computer is the "control centre" of the computer that saves all the information on what should happen with what file and when. Therefore the registry is a very risky place to operate in and as a result you undertake any and all activities there at your own risk and I disclaim any and all responsibility for any damage or non-damage to computer data, files or non-files, hardware or non-hardware and incidental losses involving windows, doors, chairs, bricks, the act of throwing or non-throwing, dropping, hurling or otherwise moving, fireworks, or elephants. In short, no. I can access the itunes.aa key and alter the permissions ok on that but I am denied access to the sub keys of itunes.aa.
