Alternative(s) to Windows Media Player

    I would like to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and use something else. I've tired MPlayer for Windoes, it's okay. Would JetAudio be good?
    Also would I have to uninstall Windows Mediia Encoder 9 and Windows Media Format 11 Runtime?

    Thanks in advance for any/all help and suggestions.

    VLC hands down. That thing always plays for me when WMP fails hard.
