Am I getting more speed out of my DSL package?

I have the ultra DSL package that is 1.5 down and 128 up(not sure on up) but, I download at 250kbs a second, which is much higher than my package, 1.5. How come? Im not complaining lol, just curious. I know someone with DSL who downloads under 200, I never go under 250.

 

Case1: Some DSL provider pump more into the DSLAMs in order to even out customer that are further away and or might have bad lines.

If you re close to the DSLAM and have a good line you might benefit from the extra (I am very close to the DSLAM and I get 200KB/sec. from 1.5Mb/sec.

Case 2: Some times they forget to set the “Speed” capping. After few days months etc. it gets turned On and make the person miserable, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about it.

or case 3: they upgraded your package and the notice of change is "in the mail"

it happened to me with comcast. I never got the letter until a month after they upgraded my service.

 

If it's a BELLSOUTH ADSL ULTRA its a 3meg DL and up is 384kb up,,,Bellsouth now offers 3 versions of there ADSL..light 784 DL128 up---mid 1.5 DL 256k up--- and Ultra 3meg DL 384 up.

The wording ULRTA does lead me to believe its a bellsouth service, please let me know if that is your ISP. Glenn...if so there is your answer...
