Am I opening the ports correctly?

I figured this was the best forum room to resolve this in, it has more to do with connectivety than gaming. I love playing Battlefield 2, but I keep getting disconnected all the time. It might be my college's server, I'm not sure; if it is, I most likely can't do anything about it, but I can try and see if it is something else. Now EA gives you all the ports it uses for the game here And I went into WindowsXP firewall and added the ports to the "Exceptions" tab. The only one I was confused about was the UDP port 1500-4999. It doesn't let you put the - in the port number box, is there a way to include this number in? Now I have a McAfee virus protection, but I don't think it has a firewall feature, though I tried playing with it disabled anyway. So I'm at a loss, I really would like to play for more than 10min. before I get disconnected. Do I have any other options?

Have you tried disconnecting the XP FW and use and configure port forwarding on your Macafee ??

I don't know how to configure port forwarding on McAfee, I just uncheck the boxes that say to block ingoing and outgoing ports 6666-6669; then took down XP FW but I still got disconnected the same ways. But I think it just unblocks them, not opens them up. I looked through all the options there doesn't seem to be a way of inputing ports for McAfee to open.

On here (MG) I got a copy of 'Sygate' home edition FW and have been using it succesfully for quite a while and its free. In the prog it is very simple to add Ports TCP & UDP . I highly recommend it.. and it has a lot more features than Macafee, but its your choice at the end of the day :) and its a lot more user friendly.

It seems the program has been discontinued, besides I don't want to spend money on fixing the problem, unless there is a freeware version. Thanks for the help anyway :)
