Ok Ive got an am2 socket on my mobo and Im going to purchase the amd 64 x2 5000+ Black Edition as an upgrade. According to tomshardware it has an unlocked multiplier and will run cooler and at less power than a 64 x2 6000+ at the same frequency. In fact you can use a stock cooler on it even when OCed.

Sadly my BIOS doesnt support any kind of overclocking and there are no BIOS updates from HP. So after a little bit of searching I found CPU MSR which can increase a cpu's multiplier. Anyone have any experience with this app? Is it any good?

I posted this in the overclocking forum but it doesnt seem many people visit it so I thought I'd ask here as well.
