    Hey guys!

I have an Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8Ghz) on a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 with 1024MB DDR400 RAM (2x 512MB matched pair in Dual Channel) and I'm having probs.

    ClockGen is telling me:
    CPU 1797.33 MHz
    FSB 133.14 MHz
    Memory 199.70 MHz
    AGP 66.67
    PCI 33.3

I'm just wondering - my board can support 400 MHz FSB, my RAM can support 400MHz... I've been told my Athlon can support 266MHz, so why aint I getting 266? In my BIOS I can set my FSB 100-133-166-200 MHz, and it tells me it's at 133 and my RAM is at 400. If mobo and cpu can support 266MHz FSB, why am I stuck with 133?

    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    BR41NZ

Its a DDR FSB and a DDR mem bus......DDR=double data rate 133 x 2 = 266.....200 x 2 = 400...Is your CPU unlocked ?? Id go for 400FSB and mem ....iv never seen a socket A CPU that dident run atleast 400FSB ( the famaly system here is a 900 MHz athlon @ 1ghz at 400 fsb ) running the fsb and mem busses at dif. speeds kills performance....

I have that Motherboard V1.x, so maybe I can help. Your motherboard is set up right now asyncronously, with a CPU FSB of 133Mhz (266ddr) Memory bus is 200Mhz (400ddr). It sounds like your Memory Ratio is set to 150% in bios. In the advanced Bios settings screen, There should be a selection for that. It should be set to Auto or 100% to run at the same speed as the FSB..You may have to set the Memory Setting Type to Manual instead of SPD or auto. If you can't see it/or adjust it after that, go out to the main bios screen and hit Control-F1. This will unlock some hidden memory and agp settings. Go back and make sure it's set properly.

Now you can try overclocking if you want by raising the FSB speed Manually. This should raise the CPU and Memory bus in sync. Which IS the best performance setting for AMD socket A CPU's
