Hello. I have just upgraded my mainboard and processor but for some reason my processor and fan won't turn on. I have double checked my work and everything seems to be connected right. Could my processor be deffective? Here is what I have upgraded too:

Soyo Motherboard SY-K7VME VIA KM400/8235 chip set
    AMD Athlon XP 2400+ processor
    Hercules 400W max PSU

When I try to boot the system up I get power so I don't think it's the PSU. I hear the hard drive spin up and I get an LED. The processor fan doesn't turn on and I don't believe the processor does either as I have let the system run for a while and the heatsink doesn't heat up. I have tried booting the system up with the FSB jumpered at 200, 266 and 333 MHz and still nothing. Am I missing something? Could my processor be deffective or fried? I appreciate any help.

Careful about messing with the FSB jumper...If I were you, I would leave it where it SHOULD be. Check the seating of the Processor, make sure it is sitting in there securely, and make sure your Processor fan is plugged in to the correct spot on the motherboard.

I dont think you should have to flash the BIOS, but I wouldnt rule it out either. Wait for other responces on here before resulting to that.
