amd audio output

I'm unable to receive TV sound from my TV in Windows 7 AMD HDMI output line. Although the jacks are plugged in to both TV and PC the display box indicates the line is disabled although I've enabled it. I also checked for an updated driver and replugged lines without success. The PC speakers do reproduce audio. Please advise

 

Can you provide some more specifications please,most notably is this a laptop or desktop,the model of your video card,the model of your laptop,if it is a desktop you video card may be too old to have audio through hdmi.

Can you confirm you receive no audio at all from any source and whether you've ever received audio.

Common quick fix-

In windows go to control panel,sound,under playback devices right click hdmi device and enable,then set as default communication device,you may have to connect the hdmi lead before the options are visible.
