I was wondering if my CPU temperature was something to worry about. I'm running CORETEMP and it tells me the temperatures of the cores in the CPU. One core is 54 degrees and the other is 56 degrees celcius.

I'm thinking this is abit high as I compared my PC with my brothers dualcore 4400 and his is running mid 30's...

Is mid 30's the ideal temperature for these dualcore cpu's? I'm not overclocking and I have it in a NXZT Duet case. I'm thinking of adding a couple case fans to the sides of the unit, one to act as an intake and the other an exhaust fan. There is currently 2 fans in the rear...

Here is the link to my case

I'm thinking TWO 120mm fans will help. Any suggestions though are appreciated.

Those temps are a bit high, but not dangerously so. I have an A64 X2 5400+ running at stock speeds (2.80ghz) and both cores run around 43c give or take 3 degrees or so. The temps only increase by a max of 5 degrees under a heavy gaming load. Check your motherboard maker's web site for the AMD Cool-n-Quiet driver; it could lower your temps by as much as 12 degrees (or more!) If the 2 rear fans are blowing out, it would be a good idea to put one in the front blowing in, and one on the side also blowing in. You'd get a nice flow of fresh air constantly moving through the case from front to back. It might also be a good idea to check your fans and heatsinks to make sure they're clean of dust and debris and that the fans are spinning freely. Check the CPU heatsink and make sure the thermal snot isn't all dried out and crusty. If using the AMD heatsink/fan unit that came with the chip, it may not have a copper core or copper contact plate which would also decrease the effectiveness of the CPU cooling... good 3rd party CPU heatsink/fan units can be had for around $25 or $30.... copper is key....

I'm running vista nad there doesn't appear to be a driver for the amd cool & quiet for vista for my mainboard. Bios is up-to-date and cool & quiet enabled. Under the Power Options Cool & Quiet is spposed to be there in Vista as it detects it automatically from what I have read, however my unit is not detecting it.

    Any ideas?
