With that AMD, you're roughly saving 40 bucks for the same power.

On intel motherboards, every few months they come out with a new pin array, that means you need a new mobo to go along with it, which also means that a year from now if you want to upgrade, you need to buy another mobo / cpu because pins are constantly changing.

AMD had Socket A for a very long time (while Intel used 3-4 diff mobo types), then upgraded to 754/939(which intel again used 3~ diff mobo types), now its mainly 939 and upcoming M2(intell currently has 4 mobos, and releasing two new types).

Oh go on I'll bite, list the socket types of Intel CPU pin arrays and their respective dates... and I highly doubt they are every three months?

Socket types for Intel desktop boards of late discounting Xeon/Itanium server boards which not many are going to be using at home.... have been the ill fated PGA423, replaced by the mPGA478 ( around 2000/1 ~ ) and the latest LGA775 or T so that just leaves the 478 which is near 4yrs old and the LGA775 as the last two current socket types Intel use, for consumer desktops.
