AMD or Intel

Building my first ever rig

got an idea of what i want just dont know which processor to use. ive seen videos of them on youtube battling out the CPU's so im a bit of a noob an dont have a clue atm.

so yeah my question is......

AMD or Intel?

 

It's not that simple.
AMD performs better than intel in some circumstances, and vice versa.

If we knew what kind of spec machine you were after...

Gaming Rig,ive got a bugdet about $1000 dollars (About £600)

I just want a rig good enough to play call of duty 4 to a decent standard of gameplay to be honest

any ideas guys?

 

I just go with what's the better price ATT. A quad is a quad. I'm not going to quibble about %5 here or there, not worth it.

 

Thats a good point,i think i could build a quad system with a decent graphics for under £500 easily,just getn the components right. first ever rig im building so its got to be special hasnt it?

Yup, the first is always the sweetest eh? Since you want to game, I would at least look at the 260's or 9800's like I have. One has to balance everything.

 

BTW, don't skimp on the power supply. Get a decent name brand.
