I have been searching every where for info on this subject and was wondering if there is a way to fully unlock my bios with out opening my laptop up and resetting the battery.

I just want to see if there are any extra settings that are hidden due to a backdoor.I want to all so see if i am able to over clock my apu a little AMD.

Would like some help with this.I normally don't ask for help.Be cause i am looking in CPU Z and Speccy and i see that there is 3 performance levels to my video card. And it's set to performance level 0 but i want it set to 3.I have the whole system setup nicely and the thing that is driving me crazy is this .

My laptop is fairly new i got it last year.So there is probably not much info on it.

    It's a HP pavilion 17 - g12wm

It runs 90% of the stuff i have great but some game i try to play are dropping in frame rates badly and every thing is updated fully.

I can tell you that the AMD APUs have Turbo Boost but it's "on demand" by whatever's running. They can't be OCed. I've got an A8 7410 @2.2 GHz with turbo to 2.5 GHz.

Those are not settings you change. Your GPU will ramp up to those levels when it's necessary, like when playing a game. Run a graphics benchmark and check it again in Speccy and CPU-Z.

Even gaming laptops have their limitations and don't measure up to their deskbound brethren.

The only thing i could think of is use MSI Afterburner.

I been looking non stop about my bios

But how come when i am looking in CPU Z it hardly changes the core and memory barely touch's second level.

But i can play games like GTA 5 that intensive on graphics. The GTA 5 settings are set to high settings and it does not lag.

But when i play other games like swtor which is more CPU intensive side than graphics. My Frame rate drops down to all most nothing when there are 170 + people playing.

That implies your CPU is the bottleneck, not the onboard graphics.

My laptop had originally windows 10.

Than the hard drive that was in it crashed for unknown reasons. So i replaced the drive with a SSD and windows 7 64 bit PRO.

I really don't have much of an issue other than the cpu/video bottle neck. The SSD performs nicely. It's one of the faster SSD's out there.

The only time i really have an issue is when the games are intense on the cpu wise the SWTOR game really beats up the cpu be cause it has two processes open at all times,And can not be closed with out closing the game out.It runs fine but if i have to open my Cyberfox browser it will lag the system a little bit be cause of the extra load.

The system is all ready set to High performance settings and adjusted correctly for gaming.

FYI this is a APU system so the video and the cpu is integrated together. The system all so maxes out to 3.50 ghz.

    Yes that is my laptop.
