America's Army Clan

After spending hours of getting killed by folks that do not understand urban warfare tactics, I had a thought. I said to myself, "Self, you need to be part of clan. That way you can play with the same people and those people can act as a squad instead of six people doing their own thing." Well, I agreed with myself that it sounded like a good idea. Now I'm here recruiting. I'm looking for two things here.

1. People interested in joining a clan for America's Army. (Possibly other games as well like BF1942, Unreal Tournament) AA is the main one at the moment. I'm open to suggestions though.

2. We will need a server, or someone who can help us get a server, or how to set up a game on the server so that we can password protect it and let only our clan memebers.

We can hone our skills on our server, then go out and conquer the world. Who's with me?

 

I had no part in it....how soon we forget...*tear*.
Anyways, I'll gladly play, I have high speed and in a week or so my new comp will finally be running, and I'll be able to play without dropping frames :-D

would love to , but I only play AAO on my lunchbreak at work. And right now, I can't get it to install on my laptop....grrrr....

After doing a little research, I decided to post this as well. I found that it is very cheap to lease a server from AmericasArmy. With a public server it would cost $8US per player slot, in addition to a one time setup fee of $20US. If a private server is leased the price drops to $4US per player slot, and the $20US setup fee remains. Very, inexpensive to lease a server if you ask me, considering the bandwidth you get with it.

 

I'll have to try out the new AA first...

 

Swatshark, where are you going to get those prices? I have played with a clan for a couple of years and recently we lost our "free" server. We have been looking at renting a dedicated game server from several companies. All that I have found is that BF1942 - 32 players is generally around 200 USD month. Raven Shield - 16 players is generally around 100 USD a month. You play as much as you want a month for that price and the server can be public ( so everyone can enjoy ) or private (so your clan can have practices and matches ). Usually the company will host a voice ip server and your clan website. The best deal I have found was at fast-gaming.com.

 

I think I just got swatshark hooked on battlefield 1942.
we've just been playing the new demo, using roger wilco, and we owned we had a tank for a whole round, did'nt die, and kill a hell of a lot people.

 

i would say somthing like "count me in please!" but i kinda lost interesting in AA since i got jailed for acidentally firing a grenade too short. whoops....

Cashy and I destroyed some Germans. Picked up a Sherman right of the bat, with Cashy in the driver's seat and me in the turret. Cashy destroyed the tanks while I shot planes and troops. He wound up with around 32 kills in one round. That's what the idiots at Armerica's Army don't understand....operating as a unit is teamwork. When the tank would get shot up a bit, we'd hop out and repair it, then back to killin Germans

I don't see there is enough interest in this to pursue it any further. The idea sounded good in my head though.

 

It is a good idea, Id go for it, but I suck at AA.. I kill myself more then anyone else

 

Same here Evc, I'm too used to Ghost Recon I guess.

 

I play UT a lot. AA is a totally different style game.
