An Adobe Fireworks trial

Ok.. So here is the series of events. I downloaded an older version of Adobe Fireworks that was offered to me over the internet. After trying it out a couple of days I realized that it probably wasn't exactly legal for me to do so, even though it was an older version.(I never actually activated, or whatever it's called, even though I did have the key) I still don't know if it really was illegal or not(don't things like that sometimes come with more then one lisence?) but I uninstalled it anyway. Then I went to try to download a trial version of the newest Fireworks from the Adobe website because I wanted to try it out. I selected Vista and all, saved(not run), and then tried to run it from my computer. I got an error message. I went back to the Adobe website, looked for information on the error message, and it said to try to download it again and save it(I did this the first time). So I did it again and it downloaded fine.

Now when I go to actually install it I get another error message. I went back to the Adobe website once again, looked up the error message, and I found this: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401521

    My questions are these
    1. In your opinion do you think there are any risks in following the instructions it gives? Seems like an aweful lot of trouble to go through to get a trial version, but I do really want to try it out. Now, I'm not a totally computer illiterate person, but I am very cautious(especially considering this isn't my computer) and I'm not afraid to ask questions when I'm not 100% sure I know what I'm doing. I'm also not exactly sure how to follow those instructions. I'm sure I could figure it out, but I'd rather not go through and trial and error.
    2. Since I haven't actually downloaded anything, it would be ok to just delete the files that were downloaded without any problems, right? I know that if I had installed it I shouldn't just delete files, right? But since the files have just been downloaded but nothing installed it should be fine, if I decide not to install?

If Adobe offers a trial, it is legal to try. If you grab it elsewhere and it says it includes a key there is about a 99% chance that it is pirated.

You may not be able to trial the latest version, depending how the earlier trial version was uninstalled.
Which of the error messages at Adobe's site do you get when you try to install this trial?

Until we know the exact error, we can't tell you what changes to make.

You downloaded the newest Adobe Fireworks and tried to install it so something different is on the computer - that is not yours.

I meant, since I haven't installed it can I just delete the files? If the install worked then I would need to uninstall, but I haven't installed, I've only downloaded the files. So it would be ok to just delete them?

The error message reads as follows:

Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Custom Support for assistance.

    Internal Error 2739

The full version that I installed previously was uninstalled prior to downloading the trial version from the Adobe website. It was uninstalled through Uninstall or Change a program in the Vista control panel.

    Hi

    1. The instructions to re-register the jscript.dll file are fine and ok to action.

    2. Yes if you have only downloaded the files and not installed the trial then its ok to just delete.

Its also likely that you may have old files from the previous full version on the PC still, so to help mop up any reminents run CCleaner its Cleaner and Regisrty tools ( do backup the registry when prompted ) http://majorgeeks.com/download4191.html
