annoying beeping noise

i dont know if this is the right section to put this problem under, but whenever i hav open programs that run certain programs, after a while my computer starts making an annoying beeping sound. is starts off at a beep every few seconds then builds up to really annoying beeping that almost doesnt stop at all.
uts been doing this for ages and its very annoying.
what can i do to fix it?

just a guess, but do you have a thermal alarm set in the bios? your cpu may be overheating.

 

i changed the settings for the heating alarm and i guess that fixed it, i havent had a hot day lately either which used to make it go more often, so im guessing it was the temperature thing.
