Annoying bios message

I recently moved everything in my computer to a new case, and when I did this I also removed the fan that had been there before. Now, whenever I turn my computer on, i get two beeps from my mobo and a bios message that reads: "Warning: previous fan failure."
Then it tells me to press F1 to move on, or F2 to enter setup(bios settings screen). I need to know how to make my computer understand that the fan is no longer there. My bios is the Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A06, and I have a Dell comp. I guessed that there was a bios setting for this, since I also removed my floppy drive and could tell my computer there wasn't one in the bios settings. I looked and I cannot find a setting about fans.

Have you tried doing a CMOS reset? Find the jumper next to the battery on the motherboard, and put it over the other 2 pins for about 30 seconds while the machine is off, and then put it back to the original position.

That should remove any "memory" of a fan failiure...

 

If there's no place to enable/disable the fan it's complaining about in the BIOS, it should still complain even after a reset. As he stated: "when I did this I also removed the fan that had been there before." The mobo is looking for a fan that isn't there, which is what it's reading as a "failure". You can also get this error if you hook up a three-pin fan to a four-pin connector.

Meaning there isnt a fan failiure at the moment. You can get a fan failiure error from plugging the header in the wrong way, having it wired wrong, having it running off the power supply 12V rail and not having the speed detection wire plugged in...
