Just when i think i have this problem fixed it seems to reappear, this time worse than ever.
I am continually having my IE homepage redirected to through search200 and i am also being bombarded with tons of annoying popups. In addition sometime my favorites will get loads of stuff in it that i do not want and i have to keep deleting the junk out. I was initially running stopzilla which was working great for the popup but then decided to get spykiller to help me out with the spyware. At first everything was working great but lately all is going downhill. I have done the following :
    - update NAV and performed a full system scan
    - loaded ad-ware and updated then performed full scan and deleted all entries
    - loaded spybot and updated then performed full scan and deleted all entries
    - ran hijack this file, results below.

    Running processes:

stick to one post about one problem, otherwise it get confusing.
Theres guys out there who will be able to help just give them time its easy to post a hijack log but takes time to read through and decipher it.
i reckon this R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://search200.com/passthrough/in...B_PVER}&ar=home will be one of the entries that needs sortin.

I would also have HijaakThis fix:
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch

Is this next item a screen saver?
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lessooze] C:\PROGRA~1\Shimaxis\Long build ford.exe

Not totally positive now about this next item but I do feel safe with anything doing autoupdates.
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoUpdater] "C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate\AutoUpdate.exe"

After addressing the issues here I would recommend that you load some Spyware protection software to prevent these things from coming back:SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard

In my previous post I meant: I do NOT feel safe with anything doing autoupdates.

i went in and fixed these then ran the hijaakthis again. so far all is looking better. also sorry about the extra intial post as i am kind of new at this. i had a problem with the web page not pulling up and did not think that all my typing had posted.
i could not figure out what the Long build ford.exe file was referenced below so that has also been removed.

i had purchased spyware killer but apparently that was not a good choice. Thanks for the input, i will definitely re-evaluating which one to use in addition to additional firewall protection. Thanks again,
    Ida

For a firewall check out Sygate and ZoneAlarmFree both available on MG's.

You don't need to choose since they use different mechanisms. I have both running without problems.

Well thing apparrently were not as good as i would have liked to believe. All items that hihjaakthis found and we mentioned here that i deleted all reappeared. I had also tried to delete the directory that the Long build ford.exe file was in but was unable to delete it as access was denied. After sleeping on this, today i went into the process and ended the process Long build ford.exe as it was running and then was able to delete the directory.

So far today i had to run ad-ware and found the same items which i had fixed. Spybot did not find anything. Long build ford.exe has been removed, but i have NO idea what it was. I guess only time will tell if my problem has been resolved.

Okay this time, disable system restore, reboot, and cleanup all the items again.
After you are sure things are okay again, re-enable system restore.

Since my last post i have not had any problems. I have been monitoring it on and off all day and so far everything has been great since i got rid of the Long build ford.exe file and folder. I was also able to get the Stopzilla functioning again. I have not had any further problems with the search200 passthrough since removing the above file. I have rebooted several times today and all seems to be back to normal. Also, i was having problem when logging into this site, ie my internet connection would lock up on this machine only. But again, since removing the Long build ford.exe i was able to log in this time w/o any problems at all. YEH.

I have been going to website today that i was having problems with yesterday but all seems well today.

Thanks for the great help. will let you know later to make sure all is ok for sure 100%

Spaz, Welcome to MGs. A couple of notes. You should read this before posting a HijaakThis log http://www.majorgeeks.com/vb/showthread.php?t=35407

If you really cannot analyze the log yourself that's okay but you need to do the stuff at the end (run Ad-aware and SpyBot S&D at a minimum, and also try CWShredder too). Now shut down ALL applications and run HijaakThis and post a log. In your message you should tell us what you have tried and what your problem is.

But even more important, post requests in you own thread to avoid confusing everyone who trys to help and anyone who trys to read the threads to sort out similar problems on their own systems. Try to address multiple user problems in a single thread quite often gets to crazy. Start over again doing the stuff I said above and post in a new thread of your own. You can always reference this current thread in your message and say you have the same or similar problem.
