Another Firefox Easter Egg?

I was experimenting with SSL and I think I've found an Easter egg in Firefox.

I typed in the URL: https://http://www.anysite.com/ and it redirects me to the Microsoft website.

Has anyone discovered this yet? I've done a quick search on google, but nothing turned up.

Rather interesting...is Mozilla poking fun at Microsoft (perhaps for their crappy IIS SSL implementation?)

UPDATE: I've found 2 more variations on this easter egg.

All you really have to type is http://http://[some site] and it will take you to microsoft.

Also interestingly when you go to http://https://[some site] it will go to paypal and when you go to http://httpr://[some site] it directs you to IMB's specification draft on the HTTPR protocol (which is a PDF).

I've confirmed the same thing happening on multiple machines, and my friends get the same easter egg I'm getting (with the same sites and everything).

    Very interesting!
