Another "how do I" question - Icon shadows (Pictures included too!)

How do I get those shadows off my desktop Icons? I did the system/advanced/ the "adjust for best apperance" then tried "let windows do it for my computer"...didn't work..then I tried the right click on the destop and tried it there under the Apperance/settings but that didn't work either.Any ideas??? Here's a picture of what I'm talking about...

But is there anyway to get rid of the color background? I was using the Flyakite theme for awhile but my wife didn't like the icon bar so when I uninstalled it ,my icons got the background and i really don't like the way it looks.

 

Open System Properties in Control Panel, choose the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Performance section. Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.

 

Got rid of mine this way. Right click My Computer, click advanced, click Performance Settings,Visual Effects and then check box Use Drop Shadows for Icon lables on the desktop and this gets rid of the colored boc under your icons

I tried to do that..and they still there.Probably gonna be something the registry...
