I've been having audio problems for a while now,
I've posted a thread on the hardware section with no succes.
Guessing it's the wrong channel? :p
I'll just try it on the software section now hoping i will get the help i need =)

    everest report
I know you said you have run the report but you need to post it.

Follow these instructions on how to post a everest report

When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

Lastly you are going to have to stick to one forum because you know have active threads on 2 boards and it's going to get confusing going back and forth.

First of all, thanks for replying. =)

Allright, I made the report like how you said, (it was 3kb to large so i deleted the <Debug - PCI> part, didnt look very important), and i unsubscribed from the other thread. I'll just restate my problem and how it happened.

For a while i have been using a program called AVS Audio Editor, i used it to record music etc. And since that program crashed for some reason i have no audio at all. (Also the microphone wont work, and the headphone plug wont work either)

Since then i reinstalled vista on my pc (twice) and reinstalled allmost all the drivers, chipset, audio, modem, vga, modem, etc. And still no sound.
The drivers i got from a drive thats in my laptop, using <acer Erecovery management>.

I hope i did it right this time.
Just call me a dick if i didnt =D

    Oh, i fergot to mention:

I do remember there was a yellew *!* mark next to the audio driver at the computer management section, but when i reinstalled the audio driver it was gone. But that was just after the program crashed.

That ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ is a direct download link for your audio driver. First, uninstall your current sound driver, then uninstall the AVS audio program. :( Sorry, but it must be done. Hopefully you can reinstall it. If not, then try this without uninstalling it, but there's a good chance that it is the root of your problem.... once you've uninstalled everything, download and run CCleaner; use the drive cleaning option and the registry cleaning option (do the optional "do you want to back up" choice when cleaning the registry). Restart the PC after running CCleaner. then install the audio driver from the link I provided; restart the PC again. If you have sound, go ahead and install the AVS program... if no sound, let us know and we'll try something else. :-D
    Good luck!

Aight, thanks for ur reply =D

Mkay, i've uninstalled the drivers using Start/Computer/Manage/Device manage, then Sound video and game controllers, High Definition Audio device/uninstall. Kicked AVS program off my pc with control panel/programs. Then installed and ran CCleaner like you said.
But when i rebooted my pc(after the reboot) it automatically searched for the driver and installed it. I've installed the driver from your link anyways, and it wanted me to reboot. But after that reboot, it again searched for a driver for the audiodevice and automatically installed it. I'm confused, is this normal?

Hmm, i've noticed my mp3player is a lill slow, while it's a usb 2.0 thingy.
And on my parents pc it's at normal speed, could it be that the usb controller is in a bad shape? I dont remember reinstalling a usb controller driver thingy.

aight, after alot of forum browsing i've found a thread with somebody experiencing the very same problems as me: ((In Device Manager it says everything is working, I have no error signs either. The mixer picks up the sounds when I test for it, I just can't hear it! It doesn't work with headphones either, although when I plug my headphones in and pull the socket in and out a little bit I can hear crackles in the headphones. ))

though i wasnt very happy seeing the result:
    ((Quote: cmmitch
Additionally - here is the blue screen error I received when things first started going bad: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Definitely "Memory". Now , if you hvae an integrated Sound card , you gotta throw off that Motherboard in the bin and procure a new one . If you have an additional Sound card ( PCI X) you have to buy a new Sound Card. Since you have reinstalled the drivers , the issue is beyond software scope. ))

    (here's a link to the thread: http://www.vistax64.com/sound-audio/209032-no-sound-tried-almost-everything-please-help.html)

(( i just dont remember the blue screen thingy ))
Does this mean my mobo is worth crap now and that i can throw it in the bin?

    Hello again!

Well, i've had it, i saw several forums with the same outcome: your soundcard is toast! (mine is ofc, and maybe yours too if your a visitor seeing you have the very same problem as me xD)

Anyways, thanks loads for trying to help me =)
Even though it didnt work i still am grateful!

I am in luck though, it happened before my warrany expired which will be in 2 months. Having this happen a bit later would be even more annoying, not to mention expensive.

Well the least i can do is tell you whether acer will give me a new mobo/soundcard even though you're probably not very interested, just in case :p

    I'll let you know!
