Hi. I have a drive mapping problem with a win2k computer to a windows server 2003 computer. Currently, I have two drives mapped to the server using a logon script that does not have a persistent connection because the persistent connection kept giving an error message stating that the local device name was currently in use. I've disabled the auto disconnect option on the server and I'm still getting the red X on the drives. Although I can now save files to the mapped drive without getting the error message, the red x bothers me.

Does anyone know how keep the mapping connected? I don't know why it keeps doing this and I can't find anything else to help me over the internet.

Is there a domain controller with the client having joined the domain, or is the server just a file server? If domain controller, are you mapped to a drive on the DC, or on another server other than a DC?

If DC/domain member, is your profile in Active Directory, or on the local machine?
