   If I don't have an AIW card I can still burn my videos from the Digital camcorder to a DVD. Why do I need an AIW card if I don't want to watch TV on my PC?

   you dont. an AIW card simply has an integrated TV tuner.
   
   the other benefit would be maybe plugging a gaming console or other AV device into the card and using your monitor as the screen.
