another virus and .......help

Now we have Trojan Hoirse downloader Keenval.c I think on my daughter computer what to do?

Also,,, should we purchase an anti virus? So far we have been using avg and some spybot something but I keep getting Trojans and dont know how to remove them....

I am so confused and dont know whats safe to download to get rid of this one.. not even sure how to go about it!!!!

To be honest you dont really need to purchase an AV program there as some good free routes to take.... AVG is ok ... but I prefer Avast!

What Opperating System has your daughters PC got... if its XP or ME then you most likely will need to turn off System Restore and reboot before trying to clean ANY virus as they lurk in the system restore files and as soon as you remove the virus and reboot, system restore will put it back.

then run your Anti Virus... I would also after running AVG use Trends Housecall (free online scan )

follow all the removal instructions.... reboot and run AVG and Trend again just to make sure, then you should be able to turn on System Restore again.
