This message pops up when I open an audio cd in wmp... "Windows Media Player encountered an error when reading the CD-ROM drive in digital mode. Click OK to switch to analog mode." I then click ok and this pops up... "Windows Media Player encountered an error when reading the CD-ROM drive in digital mode. You can try to use digital mode again, or you can switch the Player to analog mode." What the heck??? I'm just tryingto copy my music from a cd to wmp9, that's all. And when I do what they tell me to do (which is open up device manager and switch it to analog mode) it won't allow me to click on the drive that I want, can't even right click on it. Any help, please.

Go into control panel -> system -> hardware tab -> device manager -> DVD/CD-ROM drives -> right click on cd drive you are using -> properties tab -> uncheck enable digital cd audio from this cdrom device

    see if that works.

    Try this:

Open wmp9, click on tools, then options, then devices. It should show a list of your devices and one of those should be your CD-Drive. High-light your CD-Drive and click on the properties button. A screen should pop-up giving you the option to Playback and Copy your CD's in digital or analog. Make the change to analog and it should let you copy your CD's.

If that doesn't work... then I don't know.

    Hmmmm... that's odd.

    A few questions for you:

Did you undo what mr_flea told you to do?
Did you change only the "Copy your CD's in Digital" to Analog and leave the "Playback" in Digital?
What are you using to copy the songs?
