anti-spyware that updates

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a free anti-spyware program that updates on it's own. I've been using Spybot S&D for a long time but I'd like something that I didn't have to update on my own.

 

Spybot has advanced features that allows for updating and scanning automatically. That's according to this link, scroll towards the bottom: http://www.washington.edu/computing/security/spyware/spybot_inst.html

Haven't tried it myself though.

 

Spyware Terminator does. Been using it about 2 years now with nothing bad to report. The real-time shield works well too.

 

AFAIK, Spybot updates every Wednesday. If that's not correct, please anyone advise.

 

The Spybot updates have always been posted on MG each Wednesday for as long as I can remember, and I can't remember the last time an update was available through the program when it wasn't on a Wednesday.

 

I do actually use Spybot and have almost since its inception. As I stated, I cannot remember the last time was available through the program on a day other than Wednesday. This is my experience with it and that's all I can refer to. I have no idea how immediate MG posts the updates, but the have appeared on the main page on Wednesdays for quite some time. I was just staing from my experience and am not trying to instigate some kind of pointless argument over it.

Besides, if you check your calendar, May 13th and May 20th were Wednesdays, not Sundays.

Thanks a lot, I think I'll try configuring the settings in the advanced options of spybot to auto update for me. I appreciate the help.
