    Hi all,

I've seen this site suggested a few times but I'm a bit dubious about it - anyone know if the software is any good or if it's actually some kind of virus or spyware itself?

I did wonder if perhaps it might be some kind of third-party deal with Kaspersky and places like that or if they are getting people to pay them and maybe charging more than Kaspersky and other security groups do, getting the person a licence key that they send them and then pocketing the difference.

One reason for thinking the above are possibilities, is that I tried to download one of the files to scan with my antivirus program but got an alert immediately which said that my current security settings don't allow this file to be downloaded.

I'm not sure what security it was referring to. Following is a list of what I have on here and was using at the time:

    Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6
    AVG 7.5
Spamfighter whatever version we are up to (probably not relevant to this case but there for what it's worth.)
    Zone Alarm Free 7.0.462.000
IE6 set at Medium High under Privacy (yes, I know it isn't the safest browser but a couple of sites I trust and occasionally have to go to bloat their pages so much that turning off picture display and animation, etc. is best and I don't know a way to do that with Firefox, nor will IE7 run on Win2K.)

So thoughts and knowledge on the site, please?

    Thanks.

Tried what you are trying from anti-virus-download-online.com On the site, the last updated date was wrongly mentioned as 11/18/108 could be a typo but..

The down load box prompts that I have choosen to download an App kav7.0.0.125en.exe from http://www.regnow.com/ and if I want to save.

I did not want to go further....

    Hi Chookers

Just looking at the site design and the way the 2nd link is dead and doesnt go to the URL you first click, Address bar address is diferent to the status bar at bottom of browser, plus no idea on who they are (contact Us), descriptions of products missing etc Likely personal running this site has also been using Yahoo Answers to push this site and apps. Too many rougue sites have urls like that which just makes me suspicious.

Edit: when doing a check on domain and noticed off same IP where many other alledged security sites listed alarm bell rings

I would stear well clear and not enter any credit card details at all and stick to the developer themselves a retailer or an authorised reseller you trust.

Have you tried using McAfee SiteAdvisor? Good for advance warning of sites you think about visiting. Works on IE and Firefox.
