I have Malwarebyte Anti-Malware and Spyware Doctor, can i run these both or do i need to just pick one to run on my machine?

I got infected so had to re-do my computer this weekend, I have both my programs, but am confused as to what i can run together...

I know that you are only supposed to run one anti-virus and one spyware remover/preventer/etc...per one machine.

Help give me some direction please.

    Thanks,
    Keri

Please see this thread: How to Protect yourself...

    You should only have
    1 Firewall
    1 Antivirus
1 Realtime Antispyware (in other words, having multiple ones that don't run in the background are fine if you just do periodic scans with them, such as Spybot without the teatimer)

Thank you for the advise, i have Spyware Doctor w/Antivirus. Is that considered anti spyware or anti virus? Since I have this, what else would you suggest i install? I did read the info you suggested, i guess i am just trying to understand the difference between what i have.

    Thanks for any help.

I re-read again and made some changes.
    1. windows is updated
    2.
    3. using Comodo Internet Security firewall instead of windows firewall
    4. Got CCleaner
    5. Spyware Doctor with anti-virus
    6. Active X settinngs already okay
    7. Also use Firefox
    8. removed java stuff removed using the remover and got Sun Java installed
    9. havent done yet
    10. password on admin account set

My question is, do i still need to add anti-virus since i have spyware doctor with anti-virus.

    thanks,
    Keri

Spyware Doctor with Antivirus is both antimalware and AV. So if you have their AV installed you should not install another.

As far as performance, I am not familiar with it.
