AntiVir 6 Problem

I downloaded AntiVir 6 for Windows and I tried to uninstall it, but I received this message.

"Cannot load resources library! - C:\Program Files\AVpersonal\avuninst.dll

Any ideas how I can either, uninstall or get a copy of that file so I can uninstall?

 

try installing it again and then uninstalling it from add/remove

 

Thanks Kodo. I reinstalled it and the missing file is there.

Before I uninstall, I have McAfee 7 Pro, but there are a lot of conflicts with WIN98SE. If you could choose between AntiVir 6 and Mcafee, which would you keep? Thanks.

 

McAffee also seems to use a lot of system resourses.
I tell all of my family to find a differnt one (not that they listen to me lol)

 

I have found Mcaffee to be a resource hog as well. I also don't like paying $35 a year plus the however much for the software. I will say that IK have 100% confidence in Mcafee and Norton pertaining to reliability of virus definitions (both Mcafee and Norton occupy over 90% of the virsus scanner market and thus have the resources and the most reasons to keep their definitions the most up to date as possible)

 

The problem with finding another AV is that most have failed when I test them at Shields UP. McAfee tests as stealth in all ways. With other AV's, my ports are closed, not stealth. That's not reassuring.
