antivirus boot

    does anybody know of a free anti virus that you can but on a disk and have it scan when the computer boots? right now i am using avast home edition and it does not seem to have this feature. avast has a boot time scan but it is only for the computer it is installed on, i want to scan a computer that does not have a anti virus installed. o yeah if you can i would like the same thing onnly for spyware, thanks

    For Spyware, you can just run Spyware programs under Safe Mode to remove all malicious software. This usually works for me.

    I hardly have to boot from an AV CD to remove a virus, have you tried running Avast when your computer is in Safe Mode? Perhaps if Avast is not removing the virus, you could try another program like AVG.

    Other than that, the only programs that boot from the CD are the ones you pay for, i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.
