Antivirus Software

Hi everyone,

Hope I'm posting this in the proper forum

I'm just wondering if there is a free antivirus program out there that you folks would recommend?

I've always used NAV and my subscription service runs out today. I also have Zone Alarm Pro and Pest Patrol.

I'm running XP Home on a Dell Dimension 8300, P4, 60 G HD, 512.

Try Avast Home Edition. http://majorgeeks.com/download1968.html Its free, regularly updated and used by myself, and i've had no problems.

Bitdefender (on-demand scanner only)

I think the best options would be either AntiVir or Avast since they both offer official support forums, should problems arise.....

I like AVG..the only problem I have with it and the main reason I Moved to AVAST and ANTIVIR is that it doesn't clean well. Detects great! Cleans poor..

 

Hey everyone - just a quick thank you for all the replies. I decided on Avast! and, well, so far so good. Hopefully it'll keep all those ugly buglies outta my PC.

I'm using Avast on my main rig as a sorta test.. I was using Panda Platinum, but it had issues and stopped updating correctly, so I decided to switch. Shortly I'll reconfigure the other machine with avast, because I like it better

The only thing i dont like about it is the interface. Shame the 50% offer wont extend to over here
