Antivirus

Are you only suppose to have one antivirus on a computer ? Also I have these programs on my pc.... should I delete any of these and use just one or two? I have ( Free ) Spyhunter, Iobit Security 360, Advanced Care System and Avast. I also have ( bought ) Registry Patrol and Identity Patrol. I can use one and when it finishes cleaning out my pc it says everything is good . If I use another just after the first one... it says I have X amount of problems. Can anyone tell me what I need on my computer to keep it safe and clean ? Thanks
