Any advice on external HDD

    Am hoping to set up
    EITHER
    a Freecom USB HDD
    ORa Freecom network attached storage gateway ( an HDD by another name).

    These will be used as unpluggable backups for data on a few networked PCs.

    Any preferences here? Other than any cost difference which will be accepted.

    USB external drives have been known to cause problems when permanently attached to some systems.

    NAS boxes are designed to be permanently in place.
