Any danger to clicking out processes with Process Explorer rather than Task Manager?

  1. That's what I was told today by a GeekBuddy techie at Comodo before I got the we need $49.99 to go any further pitch. He suggested Process Explorer is just for technicians, which I am definitely not.

If by "clicking out" you mean "Kill Process" then no, there is no more danger than doing so with Task Manager.

Just be sure you know what the process is and does before disabling it. Some are needed even though they seem like they aren't.

If you are trying to cut down on what's running at startup then something like Microsoft Autoruns would be better to try first.

I was referring to shutting down processes I don't need running at the moment. I avoid terminating Windows processes.
