I am on Spectrum internet with 100mb service. I have a ARRIS SURFboard SB6121 that works just fine. Spectrum gave me a Technicolor TC4310. It is 12x4 compared to the Arris 4x4, but the Arris costs 4 times as much, which might mean it is better. Should I switch to the new one, or keep the old one?

Spectrum gave you a modem? Generally an ISP will rent a modem or gateway to you. At least that's what Comcast/Xfinity does. I've always purchased my own because the rental price amounts to much more than my purchasing one myself.

The SB6121 has downloads speeds up to 160 Mbps which is more than you are paying for so it will work fine for the service you have.
The TC4310 has download speeds up to 680Mbps. You would be limited by your ISP to 100Mbps so you won't get the speeds it is capable of.

If Spectrum really did give you the modem and are not charging you monthly to rent it, then use it and keep the SB6121 as a backup in case something goes wrong.
