Any easy way to fix loose PS/2 port?

I have a mechanical keyboard and I use a USB to PS/2 adapter because (supposedly) this enables traditional NKRO capability that was native in PS/2.

Unfortunately, the adapter itself is rather long, meaning it acts as a lever for the weight of the USB cable and end plug. Over time it seems this has caused my PS/2 port to become loose so that cables will no longer stay seated in it. If I try to plug one in, it just dangles loosely and will not make a connection.

[Cue dirty jokes right about .... now]

Is there any way to remedy this without actually soldering on a new PS/2 connector, which is well outside my skillset?

Sometimes, I've found short PS2 extension cables instead of that 'jack' type of connector. The cables are usually 3 inches or maybe 6 inches. I haven't looked for them recently (ugh - a few years?) but I'd look thru MONOPRICE and CABLES2GO if these above suggestions didn't work.
