Any idea what this is ~ DOS Exploit??

Hi all,

I have lurked here in the past but I don't think I have ever posted here. I am not a computer wiz by any means ~ more like a computer dummy...

I have spybot installed and I run it about every 2 weeks. I find the normal annoying cookies and other junk but here is one I have not seen before.


DSO Exploit: Data source object exploit (Registry change, nothing done)
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0\1004!=W=3

What is this and what can I do about it? Should I be worried about this?

I used spybot last night and again this morning and it just keeps coming back.

as long as your patches are up to date, you should ignore this in spybot.

 

Thanks!! Now I am really going to amaze you with my lack of computer knowledge. What patches might you be refering to?

 

Hello,

Once you are sure that you have the MS updates installed and you are protected you can have Spybot ignore DSOexploit. In the advanced settings you can check off files that you would like Spybot to ignore. DSO is an option.

It's kind of annoying to have to see it everytime you scan.
