    Hello,

    I want to create a private website to manage my family tree. I am requesting ideas of how I can display the data in tree format in HTML. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    My first thought is to use nested unordered lists, all of which would be configured with CSS with list-style: none;
    and background images for the connector lines.

    The CSS style for the items would include padding to make room for the image.

    Probably, each item, ie. person, would need a class name to designate which background image to use and where the padding and image goes.

    Where you have a group of items that all need the same image, you could possibly wrap them in a div with a class
    that puts the same image in each one.

    This would be a bit of a brain teaser to get set up initially, but once you get the CSS rules properly defined,
    the rest should be fairly easy.
