I am currently working on my graduate thesis and I am having problems with Microsoft Word. I made bar graphs in word using the data I collected, however, I can't get the graphs to line up with the text. I need to have double spacing throughout the document. The actual body of the paper is fine. When I copy and past me graphs into word I can not get the graph and title to be double spaced so that it is consistent with the text. I am not sure if I explained this clearly. I will try to find a sample link and post it. Does anyone know how I can fix this so everything lines up? Thank you so much.

Defense, just to make sure I understand correctly. You are doing a copy & paste to get your charts into word.

Yes. I created the graphs in word using the chart program. I made them in a seperate document and the text in a seperate document. As I complete the sections I have been trying to copy and paste the graph within the corresponding text. I can paste the graphs within the text. The problem is, however, I can not place the charts in evenly so that it matches the spacing of the text. I noticed that when I double click the graph to edit it, there is a lot of white space around the graph. I try to crop it down but then the actual graph shrinks. I have tried everything and can not get it even.

    Try this:

    Right-Click Chart

    Select Format Object

    Layout Tab

    Advanced... Button

    Test Wrapping Tab

    Pick a Wrapping Style

Select a Wrap Test radio button

Tell me how that works out.

    Then use Distance from Text

I think that worked! Thank you so much! I have been playing with this for months and never thought of clicking on the advanced tab when formating the graphs.

I have another question if you don't mind. When I enter the chart title and value axis labels they appear distorted. But when I delete them and enter the information as normal text the apear normal. Is there anyway I can fix this well. I am using Times New Roman throughout but the axis labels do not look like this font and are all squished together.

Thank you again for helping with the above issue!

The tiles appearing distorted may be a by product of the copy & paste. Redoing the titles in the chart looks to be the only solution.

They are distorted when I create them in chart. When I do them outside of the chart they are normal. It appears that the preformated textboxes are two small and the program won't let me enlarge them.

Your right, I don't see a way to fix it. Can't resize the text box. Text looks compacted. Creating a text box for the titles may be the only work around.

I will give that a try. Thank you so much for all your help!
