Any new mail clients that are better than Mozilla T-bird?

For no special reason, I'd like to hear some independent pros or cons on new open source or free (that's where Opera mail comes in-- free, not open) that work well or better than those described in a relatively recent zdnet feature which is here:

Frankly I have no wish to move off T-bird but there may be reason I should do so. Far as I know I have no security issues with mail and I have webmail through my ISP and a gmail account.

The pick of the day seems to be Opera Mail which they said is neither too old or too slow and will integrate and pull in mail from T-bird. This should include sent mail which I tend to accumulate.

[What I really crave is going back to Alpine (Pine for Windows) but I never got the hang of using it's 92 mail handling features. Those features are a vast array of rules for sorting mail and it is bulletproof.]

Maybe there is some mail forum where this news is?

Anyway what's your mail client and what makes it better than T-bird?

 

Pegasus Mail pmail.com is an older one, still being developed and may be something for you to look at. Full features, but as they say, it could be a tad easier to use.

Eudora is making a comeback as OS as well, a Thunderbird/commercial Eudora fusion kinda thing...

web mail has taken its toll on email client development lately, thunderbird is no longer actively developed, security and patches only I read...

 

Not free but good->> Postbox. I believe it was a fork from Thunderbird.

 

But dirt cheap at $9 US...
