Any Recommendations For Top-quality Hdd Testing Utilities?

    I’m reading some good things about Seagate SeaTools (which runs on any make of hard drive, not just Seagate), but apparently there’s not only a version for Windows, but also a more powerful version for DOS. (?)

    Not sure where you're going, but if you are going to work on a drive offline the DOS version is useful. When the machine won't boot to Windows, it's good to have options for a runtime environment.

    Oh, I was gonna boot off a healthy drive, and then run diagnostic software on another drive. So I wouldn't need a DOS version, then?
