Any Slot 1 Processor Guru's here?

Hi all. I recently aquired an older Micron ClientPro tower, with a 233MHZ P2 Slot 1 Processor in it. For free of course. When I first fired it up, it was showing as a 200MHZ. I looked up the numbers on the Processor, and found it was a 233. So I opened up the tower. I found a mobo jumper that could be set to 66MHZ, or 100MHZ. It was on 66MHZ. Specs for processor say 66MHZ "board frequency". So that looked ok, and I moved on. I then located a set of mobo jumpers that could be set to 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, or 5. The jumpers wern't set to any of the configurations illustrated on the mobo. So using the info I got about the processor, I saw the clock multiplier for the 233 Processor was 3.5. So I set the jumpers to 3.5. Now the Processor shows up in post as a 233. All is well.
Now to the questions............First off, Micron has the crappiest support site I've ever seen. I've bounced around the net for hours trying to find info on the machine, to no avail.
What I'm looking to do is, see if I can upgrade the Processor in the machine.

So, am I correct in assuming the jumper I changed IS for the clock multiplier?
And.....am I correct in assuming the 66/100MHZ jumper is the board frequency? The machine came to me with PC-100 Ram in it. I'm assuming it would "normally have PC-66 in it, to run with that setup, but the PC-100 is just being nicely backward compatible.

If I'm correct in my assumptions of what the jumpers are for, does anyone know how big of a Processor I can upgrade the machine to?

I can find the slot 1's for pennies. If I can put at least a 350MHZ Processor in it, I can give it to one of my friends as an "emergency spare" machine. But with a 233 in it, it's not really worth the bother, and I'd just strip the machine for parts.
If anyone has any knowledge of this, let me know. No hurry obviously. It's just a side project. One of the many ya know? LOL

What you need is a manual, I'm assuming you already ran the numbers on the board through a google search with the word manual in the search. This could turn up a bunch of results for you to wade through. This would tell you everything you wanted to know. I am not a slot guru by any means, I gave up on slots early. This should be basic mobo jumper settings 101, I would believe as you do that switch is clock multiplier and that is what bumped your speed up. I would say id run memtest to find out what speed your ram is running at and that will let you know about your other question, I don't think the pc100 is running at 66, I think the 100mhz is the board freq.

The mark of real genius is not knowing all the information, but knowing where to look it up. (a bastardization of Benjamin Franklin)

Believe me, I've searched. 99% of the tech questions I answer here, I get the answers from Googling. But I've spent a total of about 4 hours over the course of a week trying to find info on the mobo. I come up with some old "reviews" about it, but that's about it. About all I can come up with from Micron about older stuff, is "email out tech support dept with your question".
Yup, well, you know how that goes. It's been 2 weeks, and nothing from them. LOL
So I'm just kinda hoping someone will have some ideas off the top of their head. I know there's a lot of people here with vast knowledge of the older stuff.
Like I said, it was a free machine. It's not worth anyone putting too much time into. If someone knows off the top of their head, great. If not, it'll sit in my junkroom for all of eternity. LOL

Clock it till it burns then get another one and don't go quite that far.

YEAH..........Disregard !! I found a mobo manual thru a third party vendor for Micron.

You can buy adaptors to change the slot 1 to socket 370, but they aren't worth it or perfect.

To answer your other questions, 66 is the FSB and 3.5 is the multiplier.

    I have a P3 450 ( 100 x 4.5 ) if your interested.....

Yeah, I saw those converters on ebay for cheap. I guess you use a 370 "flip chip" in them. I saw at some sites that mentioned them, the're kinda buggy.

Thanks for the confirmation about the jumpers. I did find info on calculating the multiplier, so I got some info to work with now.

Ace........I'll have to see just how big I CAN go. Obviously, I'd want to go with as high a mhz Processor as it will take.
The maximum ram the mobo takes is listed at 256. But I did update the bios, so who knows. Maybe she'll take more. Sometimes it happens.
But thanks for letting me know you have the 450. If that turns out to be about the biggest I can put in, I'll let you know.

    I also have a P3 733 (133FSB) i can sell for cheap.....thow i doubt it will run a 133 FSB.....

Based on the FSB and multiplier jumpers, I would guess that the fastest processor you can get is a 500Mhz. 100Mhz FSB x 5 multiplier.

Excellent Wyatt ! That's exactly what I came up with last night by taking core speeds and dividing them by cpu speeds, and comparing the totals with what the mobo has available.
But boy.......looks like I COULD go up as high as 1GHZ by using one of those Slot 1 to 370 adaptors. But after doing a lot of research on those puppies, I stumbled apon some possible "problems" with using those. Plus this must be a very low budget upgrade, cuz i"m just going to give the comp to a friend as an emergency spare machine for zero dollars.

    Just won a slot 1 500MHZ/ 100MHZ bus speed on ebay for $2.50 + $5.00 S&H !!!!!
Plus I have some pc-100 ram laying around, so I can max that out to it's 256. It does have a 15GB 7200rpm hdd in it.
That'll be very sufficiant for a spare machine. So that's sweet. Got comp for free, $7.50 spent. Got a 500MHZ Pentium machine.

Thank you everyone for your help. I didn't expect such fast responses, since this was just a "non-important" project. Now I can get it done (once I get the processor), and get it out of here.
That'll give me room to get some more STUFF !! LOL

Just a thought, instead of giving it to a friend as a spare machine. Why not sell it off in the local paper for around $120.00, That way you can support your habbit (components arn't cheap) I have actually made a decent living at it. My side business just paid for my new vehicle and a new computer.

Also you get the benifit of pressing the computer back into service, with someone who will actually use it.

I do exactly that all the time. But, I have my little worker bees that find machines for me for free, that I fix up and sell. They don't know squat about computers, but I've trained them on what to look for, so they know if the're worth taking them.
This Slot 1 computer is for one of my worker bees. LOL
So now I'm sure you understand the situation. This kid has gotten me over 20 machines last year for free, that I fixed up and resold at great profit. So $7.50 out of pocket............well.........let's just say.......LOL

Believe me, I know the bennies of doing this as a side buisness. Last year, I almost matched the income of my full time job doing it. $$$$$$
