Any suggestions for a freeware photo editing / blending suite

hello! I am looking for a freeware / opensource photo editor i can use to blend photos e.g. a persons head on a different body and maybe apply different backgrounds. Any ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance

 

You can google any one or all three of these and try them out.They are free. Gimpshop,Photoplus{Freeserifsoftware.com}. orIrfanview-Image editor.Hope this helps a bit

Thanks for the suggestions guys. i fell in love with gimpshop, obviously coz it's open source and is packed full of features u'd find in paid for programmes.

The problem i'm facing is how to execute the tasks i wanted the programme for. can anyone suggest how i'd for e.g. put a picture of my head on a diferent body and in a different background using gimpshop. your help would be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance
